Children are like open flower buds. They are ready to open up and soak in what the world has to offer. They are so in tune to their environment and the subtlest of movement can either nurture or wither the beautiful nature of their essence.
Every moment of life for the child is like a matrix of love that can either be experienced in unity or in a place of shutting down. This could occur from inside the warmth of the womb, to the interaction of playing with other children on the playground. A child’s response to life is experienced with individuals, groups, community and the world in which they lives. Depending on your child’s unique nature, when certain missing elements of trust and needs are not met developmentally, they don’t blossom into the fullness of life. But as with all people, life offers new opportunities over and over again to step into the next stage of growth.
There are three modalities of Healing Work that Sharon offers with babies and children. Craniosacral, Structural Integration and Energy work are very helpful in helping your children to overcome challenges.
Craniosacral Therapy
Built on the foundational work of Dr. Sutherland, Dr. John Upledger developed Craniosacral therapy as it is known today. He is well known for his accomplishments helping children with autism, dyslexia, learning disabilities, and hyperactivity. What is so beautiful about this work with children is that it is so gentle and yet so profound. Remarkable changes have been demonstrated time and time again. Craniosacral therapy is a light-touch therapy shown to be effective in supporting the central nervous system so that your child’s body can self-correct and heal naturally. The work is often done with the parent in the room and the session held including the presence of the family members in the room if so desired. Because the child is so open to change, the sessions are done in 30 minutes or under in most cases.

Structural Integration
Structural Integration was developed by Dr. Ida Rolf. She created a 10 series recipe which works with lengthening and balancing the child’s body in good relationship to the line of gravity. This work deals primarily with the fascia. While the craniosacral systems does as well, the focus on the above is more on the Cranial rhythm, whereas, the structural work is geared more to gently manipulating the tissues for structure. The SI sessions with children last a little longer, but it truly depends on where the child is during the session.

* Chronic Pain
* Misalignment
* Challenging Sports Performance
* Relief of Cramps
* Foot Discomfort or Imbalance

Energy Work
Brennan Healing Sciences was developed by Dr. Barbara Brennan. It is a holistic and gentle approach to working with the energy field of children. During a session, a child is fully clothed and can either play in the room or lay down on the massage table. Sharon will place her hands on the chakras in order to charge, balance and restructure. The session usually includes talking and expressing whatever feelings or thoughts come up in an open and sacred space.
Energy Healing work is always helpful and because most children are very sensitive, they will notice some change although they may/may not be able to express it. Parents are welcomed into the session as long as the child is comfortable with this decision.
Childhood conditions that may benefit:
